Bangladesh Health Professions Institute (BHPI) CRP & State College of Health Sciences want application for admission test in the Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy Program under the  faculty of Medicine, University of Dhaka. Bangladesh Physiotherapy Association organizes 3rd National Physiotherapy Congress and Scientific Seminar on 20th Nov'08 at BIAM Auditorium, Dhaka. The theme of the congress was " early Physiotherapy management and prevention of disability". Many scientific papers were presented regarding the theme of the congress and many crucial concepts have been emerged which will help practitioners to update their practice. Dr. Akbar Ali Khan (the chairman RRC) was the chief guest at inaugural ceremony whereas  A M M Nasir Uddin (Honorable Health Secretary) was the chief guest of the closing ceremony of the congress. A souvenir has also been published on that occasion.

World Physical Therapy Day,8th September, 2008 has been observed  by BPA through various Program including organize rally with faston and banner from Jatiye Shohid Minar to National Press Club from 10 AM.. That day was also  marked with round table discussion about re- think the National Health policy and Physiotherapy, presided over the President of BPA Md. Obaidul Haque. Dr. Akbar Ali (Chairman, Regulation Reform Commission) has opened the rally and was the chief guest of the round table discussion. Mr. Zakir Uddin, Vice president of BPA has presented the key note paper in the round table discussion.

 

Subcommittee has been   formed as a part of progress on going activities of BPA through the Executive meeting on 22nd May, 2008.

Continuous professional Development (CPD) Committee: This committee has been reformed aims to arrange updated professional course among the member. The committee will implement CPD program based on current needs of practice and education. Besides this the newly developed course content of curriculum, which was not taught to former graduate will be educated gradually through the collaboration of the institution and academic transcript also will be updated. BPA hopes it will create enormous impact to develop the profession.

Journal Committee: This committee also has been reformed aims to publish journal according to the schedule time. Two different committee has been formed in order to promote this process are Scientific committee and Editorial board. 

 Post creation and council committee: This committee has formed aims to accelerate the registration process and creation of class one post at government level hospital and educational institutes.

“BANGLADESH PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSOCIATION AWARD” HAS BEEN LAUNCHED.

Six newly physiotherapy graduates on the basis of the performance in the 4th year final Examination from five different institutes/universities (NITOR, Bangladesh Health Professions Institute, BMC, Gono Bishwabiddalay, People’s University of Bangladesh and the State College of Health Science) have been honored with this award.
